During this 7 day dogsledding tour over the King’s Trail, you will mush your own team of huskies around Kebnekaise, Sweden’s highest mountain! The landscape is stunning with the alpine country covered in meters of snow. There will be good chances to spot northern lights during this tour!

Price: 18.500 sek (incl. all overnight stays, all meals, mushing your own team of huskies, warm clothes and boots)
You will spend your first night of this trip in a logcabin in Nikkaluokta in the heart of Lapland’s mountains, where we will have a good view on Kebnekaise if the weather permits. You will meet your guide and will be introduced to the dogs and your fellow mushers. You will get an instruction in how to mush a dogteam and we will do a kit check. The following day we will mush our own teams into the mountains!
The next 5 days will lead us through the mountains surrounding Kebnekaise – Sweden’s highest mountain! We will be driving between 20-40 km every day, depending on weather and snow conditions. The route takes us up through Vistas valley, which is easy terrain so that you will have a good chance of gaining some experience in dogmushing. From there we will head over a pass to Alesjaure, where will join the famous King’s Trail back to Nikkaluokta. We will stop for coffee breaks and lunch along the way.
During the trip we will spent the night in the comfortable mountain huts owned by the Swedish Tourist Association. In some of the huts we will be able to enjoy a sauna. At night we keep an eye out for the northern lights.
After 5 days out in the mountains, we will come back to our starting point in Nikkaluokta, where will spend the last night in a logcabin, enjoying a a good meal and a sauna or a shower to celebrate a fantastic tour in the mountains!
All participants are expected to take part in taking care of the dogs as well as daily chores such as fetching wood and water.

Level: Good level of fitness. You have to be able to run for 5 km, as you need to help the dogs when we cross the mountain passes. No previous dogsledding required. You will stay in comfortable cabins with basic facilities (longdrop toilets, no running water or electricity).
Travel: Flight to Kiruna Airport, transfer to Nikkaluokta. Alt. comfortable nighttrain from Stockholm to Kiruna, transfer to Nikkaluokta.
